A Glimpse of the Manor

A picture of the inside of our new refrigerator. Now THIS is what you call excitement. It's even bigger than the one in Wheaton. It was the biggest I could get without spending thousands on a commercial refrigerator (which I may do someday, you know!)

Here is a glimpse of the boy's room. We'll post more of the rooms later as we get them put together, but I can't really do that yet because........

........here is what most of it looks right now. We are still digging through stuff. If I didn't have all of these books and papers I'd probably be done :) This is the dining room. See how I set up the chairs over by the window? Dad and I do our quiet times there in the morning. I will be recovering the chairs and putting one of our end tables in between. You can't really see the baskets I bought to put our books, Bibles and etc. under the chairs, but when I get the room done, I can put it in a later post.

Moving Day

Here is Jesse Sommerfeld helping dad with one of my bookshelves before it gets take out to the moving trailers. Jesse and Phil were the strongmen, taking the piano from the basement by themselves :) Mr. Sommerfeld was there as well, and he brought doughnuts to the delight of the working crew.

Here are a couple of the FIVE trailers that the folks from Dover brought to help us with our move. Three generations of Elmores, the Jacksons, Mike Duffield and Dave Cook were there.

Exciting picture of the trailers in the driveway.

I could not, I mean seriously could not have accomplished the move without Patty Jackson. She was my brain for the morning!
I was very grateful that she came along!!!

The Durochers were there to help, Dale and Jon Jones, the Bullocks came to say goodbye and Pam Rapier made chili for the whole crew and recruited some others to bring food for the lunch (Susan Fisher, Stacy Durocher, and Dawn Jones)

I'm sorry I don't have any pictures of later in the day, but several people helped on the Dover end as well. All of the Dover folks listed above plus the Forristalls, an additional Jackson, Dave Cook's son, Steve and Steve Foster, John Welsh, and I'm sure I'm forgetting someone..... Several of the ladies made a dinner for us at the church. Do you think that we have been well taken care of??

I'll get a picture of the house and post office up soon. I have another small post to make today though.

Shower on Sunday

There was also a baby shower on Sunday for Tammy Foster's daughter in law, Ashley. I thought I would take one of Danielle's artistic food shots. I even did this in raw, using the white balance and no automatic flash. Aren't you proud of me Danielle? Notice the blue punch. Seriously, I have never seen blue punch before in my life. Not my style :)

This is the guest of honor, Ashley.

Just one more day...

Saturday is soon approaching!!

Mrs. Lewis came over and packed up Danielle's room. That was a BIG help! (There is your stuff Danielle, ready to go)

We had the annual meeting on Sunday. Here is a picture of John, and a picture of the food (Timothy took these pictures)

We have been crazy busy this week trying to get everything packed. Cassia and Gabi left with grandma to spend the weekend at their house. They will come back on Tuesday to Dover. I meant to get a picture of them before they left...

As you can see, the bookshelves are starting to be packed. This is just a small part of what the house looks like right now. I'm not sure anyone would want to buy it with the way it looks :)

Felicia went with me to IKEA today to get this dresser for my room in Dover. I'm going to put that black mirror, currently in our dining room, over it. She insisted on buying it for us. Don't you love her? She also packed quite a few boxes in our kitchen. I should have gotten a picture, but maybe as I keep blogging I'll get better at remembering details like that!

Luke came over to play with Cassia today. I think that the Grout boys are really going to miss the Denners :)

If at first you don't succeed....

...try, try again. But only for Danielle and the moms! I am determined to keep this blog journal going!!

Here are a few pictures from Danielle's departure from O'Hare to go to Uganda for 3 1/2 months. Insert smile and frown here. We are excited for you, Danielle, but we will miss you terribly.
